Before cleaning you kettle, unplug it from the power source. Using a damp cloth you can clean the inside and outside of the kettle. DO NOT use any cleaning detergents to clean the kettle as it will damage the material and initiate rusting.
Limescale will develop in every kettle differently and at different stages. We recommend checking your kettle every 4-5 boils for signs of limescale. De-scaling your kettle will increase the lifetime of your kettle, provide faster boiling and better tasting water.
Every new kettle you purchase should be boiled at maximum water capacity three times before use. If that fails, there are other ways you can use such as boiling the kettle with lemon juice or bicarbonate of soda.
If you notice that your kettle is taking more than 5 minutes to boil or a large amount of limescale is starting to build up. It might be the right time to get a new kettle.
Most of the Geepas kettles come with a removable/permanent filter. The filter prevents limescale and other impurities escaping the inside of the kettle.
